What Is the Difference Between ABA and BCBA?

minute read

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis, a type of therapy that helps individuals, especially children with autism, improve communication, social skills, and daily behaviors. ABA therapy uses proven strategies to encourage positive behavior and reduce challenging ones.

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a professional who designs and oversees those ABA therapy programs. They’re highly trained and certified experts in behavior analysis. Think of it this way: ABA is the therapy itself, and a BCBA is the person who plans, monitors, and adjusts that therapy to meet the child’s needs.

So while ABA is the method, the BCBA is the specialist making sure that method is used in the most effective way possible.

At Connect n Care ABA, our team includes experienced BCBAs who craft personalized ABA therapy plans and guide our therapists every step of the way to ensure your child makes meaningful progress.
