What Virginia families say about us

Our ABA services in Northern Virginia

One plan, one BCBA running it, delivered in the settings that fit your child. See all our ABA therapy services.

01

In-home ABA therapy across Northern Virginia

Your therapist comes to your house. The work happens in the rooms where the difficulty actually lives, which is where a new skill has the best chance of lasting. In a region where a ten mile trip can take fifty minutes, it also means the hardest part of the week, getting a dysregulated child into a car, stops being part of therapy at all.

02

School-based ABA in the Northern Virginia divisions

We work inside the classroom alongside your child's teachers and support staff, across Fairfax County, Arlington, Alexandria City, Loudoun and Prince William. The point is that the goals in the IEP and the goals in the therapy plan are coordinated, and that you are not the one carrying messages between the two.

03

Parent training

The strategies have to work when we are not in the room, so we teach you the same methods the therapists use, built around real situations from your own week. You are the one constant in your child's program.

Get started

How starting with us actually works

  1. You call us

Tell us what is happening and what you have already tried. Call the Virginia team or use the form on this page and we will call you back.

    Step 1
  2. We check your benefits

We verify coverage with your plan directly and tell you in plain numbers what it will cost before anything begins. Virginia Medicaid through Cardinal Care and most major commercial plans are accepted here.

    Step 2
  3. A BCBA assesses your child

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst spends real time with your child, usually at home, and writes the plan around what they actually find. You see it and you approve it.

    Step 3
  4. Therapy starts where your child is

At home, at school, or both. Your BCBA reviews the data with you regularly and changes the plan when the data says to.

    Step 4

Why Northern Virginia families choose Connect n Care

  1. A real Virginia address, not a satellite

Plenty of companies advertising across Northern Virginia are headquartered in another state and send staff in. Our Virginia team is based at 8609 Westwood Center Drive, Suite 110 in Tysons, so the BCBA running your child's plan works in this region rather than managing it remotely.

  2. No waitlist

Waitlists for ABA in Northern Virginia routinely run to months. For a child of early-intervention age that delay is not neutral, it is lost ground. We are taking new families now.

  3. We know the school divisions

Fairfax County, Arlington, Alexandria City, Loudoun and Prince William each run their special education processes differently. Knowing which one you are dealing with, and who to talk to inside it, saves families months.

  4. Virginia Medicaid and the commercial plans that matter here

Cardinal Care through its managed care plans, plus CareFirst and Kaiser Permanente, which between them cover a large share of Northern Virginia families and are not universally accepted by ABA providers.

Meet the leadership

The people behind your child's care

Our Virginia team is led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who also hold state licensure, and supported by RBTs who receive ongoing training, so your child gets current, effective care.

Our Northern Virginia office, in Tysons

Our one Virginia address is in this region. The BCBAs and therapists who would work with your child are based here, not sent in from another state.

Questions families here ask

Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax, Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, Loudoun County, and Prince William County including Manassas. Our therapists travel out from the Tysons office, so coverage is a question of travel time rather than a hard line on a map. Every town we have written up is linked in the section above, and we serve a number of others, Vienna, Falls Church and Herndon among them, that simply do not have a page yet.

We have one Virginia address and it is in Northern Virginia: 8609 Westwood Center Drive, Suite 110, Tysons, VA 22182, near the Spring Hill Metro station. Our Virginia BCBAs and therapists work from it, and intake and assessments are arranged there. It is worth being precise about what it is not: it is not a therapy center, and children do not attend it for sessions. Therapy happens in your home, at your child's school, or in the community. Center-based sessions run only at our Charlotte clinic in North Carolina.

Yes, for a child with an autism diagnosis where the treatment is medically necessary and prior authorization is in place. Virginia Medicaid is Cardinal Care, administered through managed care plans. We work with Aetna Better Health of Virginia, Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, Humana Healthy Horizons and Sentara Health Plans. On the commercial side the two that come up most in this region are CareFirst and Kaiser Permanente, and we take both. Tell us your plan and we will verify it before you commit to anything.

School-based ABA means our therapist works in your child's actual classroom alongside the teacher and support staff, rather than running a parallel program nobody else can see. We do this across Fairfax County Public Schools, Arlington Public Schools, Alexandria City Public Schools, Falls Church City Public Schools, Loudoun County Public Schools, and Prince William County and Manassas City schools. Each division handles special education referrals and IEP meetings slightly differently, and part of what we do is tell you which process you are in and what it will ask of you.

We do not run a waitlist, which is the main practical difference between us and a lot of providers in this region right now. Once insurance is verified and the BCBA assessment is done, therapy usually starts within a few weeks. The variable is prior authorization, which sits with your insurer rather than with us, so the honest answer is that we move as fast as your plan allows and we tell you where it is stuck rather than leaving you to guess.

It depends on the assessment, and anyone who gives you a number before meeting your child is guessing. Our plans generally run between 15 and 25 hours a week, with the intensity set by what the BCBA finds and adjusted as your child progresses. What matters more than the headline number is consistency, because a program delivered patchily does not produce the results the research describes.

Earlier is better, because young children acquire new skills more readily and because an early program can change what school looks like later. But starting later is not a wasted effort, and we work with children from the early-intervention years through to young adulthood. If you are weighing it up, our page on early intervention ABA covers what the evidence actually says.
