Our ABA services in Tysons

Three settings, one plan and one BCBA running it. See all our ABA therapy services.

01

In-home ABA therapy in Tysons

Your therapist comes to you. Sessions run in the rooms where the difficulties actually happen, which is where new skills are most likely to stick: the kitchen at dinnertime, the hallway at school drop-off, the bedroom at bedtime. For families in Tysons, Vienna and McLean it also removes the part most parents dread, which is getting a dysregulated child into a car on the Beltway.

02

School-based ABA therapy in Fairfax County

Tysons schools are served by Fairfax County Public Schools, one of the largest divisions in the country. We work alongside your child's teachers and support staff so the targets in the classroom and the targets in therapy are the same targets, and so you are not the one carrying messages between them.

03

Parent training

You are with your child far more than we are, so the strategies have to work when we are not in the room. We teach you the same methods the therapists use, with real situations from your own week rather than worksheets.

Get started

How starting with us actually works

  1. You call us

No script and no sales pitch. Tell us what is happening at home and what you have already tried. Call the Virginia team or send the form on this page and we will call you back.

    Step 1
  2. We check your benefits

We verify your coverage with the plan directly and tell you in plain numbers what it will cost before anything starts. Virginia Medicaid through Cardinal Care and most major commercial plans are accepted here.

    Step 2
  3. A BCBA assesses your child

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst spends real time with your child, usually in your home, and writes a plan around what they find rather than around a template. You see the plan and you approve it.

    Step 3
  4. Therapy starts where your child is

At home, at school, or both. Your BCBA reviews the data with you regularly, and the plan changes when the data says it should.

    Step 4

Why families in Tysons choose Connect n Care

  1. There is an actual office here

Our Virginia team is based in Northern Virginia rather than managing the region remotely, at 8609 Westwood Center Drive, Suite 110, so the BCBA running your child's plan works in the same county your child lives in.

  2. A BCBA runs your child's program

Not an assistant with occasional oversight. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst writes the plan, supervises every RBT who works with your child, and is the person you call when something changes.

  3. No waitlist

Northern Virginia waitlists for ABA routinely run into months, and for an early-intervention-age child that delay is not neutral. We are taking new families now.

  4. Skills that leave the session

A skill that only appears in a therapy room has not been learned yet. We work in the places the behavior actually happens, and we train you to hold the line when we are not there.

Meet the leadership

The Virginia team behind your child's care

Our Virginia work is led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who also hold state licensure, supported by RBTs who receive ongoing training, so your child gets current, effective care.

Questions families in Tysons ask

Usually within a few weeks. We do not run a waitlist, which is the main practical difference between us and many Northern Virginia providers right now, so once your insurance is verified and a BCBA has assessed your child, therapy begins. The one variable is prior authorization, which sits with your insurer rather than with us, and we will tell you where it is stuck rather than leave you guessing.

Yes, for a child with an autism diagnosis where the treatment is medically necessary and prior authorization is in place. Virginia Medicaid is Cardinal Care, administered through managed care plans. We work with Aetna Better Health of Virginia, Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, Humana Healthy Horizons and Sentara Health Plans. We also take CareFirst and Kaiser Permanente, the two commercial plans that come up most here. Tell us your plan and we will verify it before you commit to anything.

No, not to talk to us. Insurers will want an autism diagnosis before they authorize ABA, and most Virginia plans want a referral too, but you do not need either in hand to call. We will tell you exactly what your plan requires and in what order, which saves most families several weeks of guessing. There is a referral form here if your pediatrician asks for one.

No. Sessions take place in your home, at your child's school, or in the community. The Tysons office is the base for our Virginia team and where intake and assessments are arranged. We do not offer center-based therapy in Virginia; those sessions run only at our Charlotte clinic in North Carolina.

Both names point at the same building. Our address is 8609 Westwood Center Drive, Suite 110, Tysons, VA 22182, in the Westwood Crescent development near the Spring Hill Metro station on the Silver Line. The 22182 ZIP code is a Vienna postal ZIP, so some maps and directories show it as Vienna rather than Tysons Corner. It is the same office either way, and we serve families in Tysons, Tysons Corner, Vienna, McLean and Falls Church from it.

Vienna, McLean, Falls Church, Oakton and Dunn Loring immediately around the office, then out to Reston, Herndon, Ashburn, Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandria. The full list is in areas we serve above. If your town is not on it, call us anyway: it is a question of travel time, not a hard boundary.

Yes. Our therapist works in your child's classroom alongside their teachers and support staff, so the goals in the IEP and the goals in the therapy plan are coordinated and the people delivering both have actually spoken to each other. We work with Arlington, Alexandria City, Falls Church City, Loudoun and Prince William divisions on the same basis.

It depends on where the house actually is, not what the post office calls it, and this catches a lot of families. The City of Falls Church runs its own division, Falls Church City Public Schools. But many addresses with a Falls Church mailing address sit in Fairfax County and are zoned to Fairfax County Public Schools. The two handle special education referrals and IEP meetings differently, so give us your street address and we will confirm which one before anything is arranged.
